Harvest Duck Eggs, incubate them and go to the market to sell | One Wish

In a peaceful countryside, raising ducks is not only a source of income, but also the pride of many families. Our story began with a simple dream – to turn duck eggs into a stable and sustainable source of income.

Step 1: Harvest duck eggs

Every morning, when the sun had just come out, the farmer began his work by inspecting the duck house. Ducks lay eggs at night or early in the morning, so this is the ideal time to harvest. Carefully collect each egg clean, making sure it is not broken or dirty.

  • Note: Duck eggs need to be harvested immediately after duck laying to avoid bacterial contamination or damage due to the weather.

Step 2: Select and classify eggs

After harvesting, the eggs are thoroughly inspected. Only eggs that are healthy, without cracks or defects are selected for incubation. Unsatisfactory eggs can be sold directly as food.

  • Classify: Eggs are divided into two types: incubated eggs and consumed eggs. Consumed eggs are sold immediately or processed into dishes such as salted eggs. The hatching eggs are retained to continue the process.

Step 3: Incubate duck eggs

After sorting, the qualified eggs will be put into the incubator. The incubator helps to control temperature and humidity, two important factors to ensure a high hatching rate.

  • Incubation Temperature: The ideal temperature for incubating duck eggs is between 37.5°C and 38°C.
  • Humidity: Humidity should be maintained between 55% - 65% in the early stage and increase to 70% - 75% in the late stage of the incubation process.

The incubation period for duck eggs lasts about 28 days. Throughout this process, it is necessary to rotate the eggs regularly to ensure that the temperature is evenly distributed around the eggs.

Step 4: Care and nurture ducklings

When the eggs hatch, the ducklings need to be taken out of the incubator and placed in a warm cage. They need to be carefully cared for in the early days to ensure they are healthy. Ducklings are fed nutritious food and kept warm constantly.

Step 5: Bring eggs and ducks to the market to sell

After harvesting eggs and raising ducklings, it's time to bring the product to the market for sale. Duck eggs can be sold in batches or retail, depending on the demand of the market. Healthy ducklings can also be sold to other farms or raised for meat.

Selling at the market not only helps bring income to the family, but it is also an opportunity to introduce local products to the wider community.
